Recital Video
The 2010 Recital will be professionally recorded and DVD’s will be available for purchase.
The video will be a professional “keepsake” with titles and listing of each student’s name in the credits.
Once again we will be using Emily Alford Harp and Shining Star Media. Emily is a former student at Flag City. She now owns a production company. She will be using two cameras, one for wide shots and one for close-ups.
The cost for a DVD is $35.00. If you would like a DVD, fill out the form and return it to Cindy along with your payment. Make checks out to FLAG CITY SCHOOL OF DANCE.
You will be called when the DVD’s are ready (usually within two weeks of Recital) and they can be picked up at the Dance School at that time.

Recital Day
SCHEDULE OF EVENTS FOR SATURDAY, May 15th, 2010
10:00 A.M. - Full dress rehearsal at The Grand Opera House (651 Mulberry St.) for all students. Come dressed in costume (order of dances listed below) with tutu’s and skirts on hangers and accessories in a bag. Label every single piece of costume with student’s name. That includes hats, gloves, shoes, head pieces, tights, etc. Please make sure everything is labeled. Girls, no panties should be worn under your costume! Students should wear a spare pair of tights to dress rehearsal and save the good tights for the show. Costumes only – No makeup is needed for rehearsal.
This will be a closed dress rehearsal. No one will be allowed in the auditorium to watch rehearsal. At 10:00 a.m., drop your child off at the stage door entrance of The Grand Opera House. The stage door is located off the alley that runs in the back of the auditorium and it will be marked. You may park in the parking lot beside the Grand and walk to the back entrance. Come back to the same door and pick your child up at 12:30 p.m
After rehearsal, I suggest all students take a nap or at least rest. I want performers rested and alert for the Recital.
6:30 P.M. - Your child must be back at the Opera House by this time. Once again, drop students off at the stage door, dressed and with stage makeup on. Students need a base foundation blended well around hairline and neck, heavy blush also blended well on cheek bones (no red circles), eyeliner and mascara (waterproof is a must), and eye shadow (neutral colors). Hair has to be put in a bun.
You may pick students up at the stage door AFTER the Recital is over. Students will not be able to leave until the entire Recital is over.
Each class has an adult “Class Parent” with them at all times. This person will make sure your child is dressed properly and ready for the stage. Parents do not need to go backstage.
If you have small children who cannot sit through a two hour show, please do not bring them to Recital. It is very distracting to the other guests and you will enjoy the show much better if you aren’t wrestling with a toddler.
This is the order in which your child’s dances will appear:
BREAK A LEG!
